Shall I compare thee to an autumn’s day?***

Thou art more colorful and vibrant:

Leaves change and fade away,

The autumn’s stay too brief to count;

Sometimes too brisk the breath of autumn’s voice,

Often cold is his gaze, grim;

Nature’s fiery hues have no choice,

Must whither, brown, and dim;

But your striking autumn will not cease

Nor lose its bold and spirited ways,

Nor shall winter hide you in its light’s decrease

When you shine beyond mere mortal’s days:

So long as a mother’s love persists and dreams

So long lives this record of your charming schemes

***with my most sincere apologies to Will Shakespeare***

Prompted by my thoughts on my boys and how perfect an autumn day can be.
